Tired and Wanting the Open Road

I am tired today. I spent the day cleaning willows and debris from a ditch in the Meadow and it wore me out. I was planning on going for a bike ride this afternoon—well a bike ride other than going to the fields—but ended up cutting and ripping dead and living willows to thin them and let the irrigating water flow better. Oh well, c'est la vie, I suppose. I'm a bit down because my trips don't seem to be materializing. And in all fairness it's partly my fault, our rig is in disrepair since I haven't put the Doggy Ride back together again, but the weather hasn't been cooperating either, windy and (sort of) wet. The forecast for this weekend calls for rain every day. I hope it comes, but also want to get into the mountains on my bicycle!

But the good news is that this is the last day of the Ranch Work Bike Challenge for April and I will end up at least +14 on my bike trips to gas trips.

Anyway, I thought I would post some fun pictures from my winter ride to the ranch to tide me over until we hit the road again.

Never can get enough "poop" painted on rocks.

Grub, who invited me in to warm up, with Coco on the couch.

My shadow riding across Sand Pass by moonlight.

Coco enjoying the view as we fly along the Smoke Creek Desert.

The rig with the Granite Mountains in fog.

Cold camp morning on the Black Rock.

Old Razorback Mountain in fog.

Train passing on way to Sulfur.

Surly frosted up at camp at Jackson Mts. hot spring.

Last sunset over the rig.
