Ride Already

It was windy on Sunday and I hemmed and hawed about going on a ride, although I didn't have anything else going on. One benefit of procrastinating was that I gave the Surly love: washed it, oiled the chain and cleaned the derailleur, proofided the Brooks and generally got it going. The weather was perfect though, so finally, despite the wind, I couldn't say no anymore, and as usual was glad to be out once I got started. From my house I climbed
up to Mt. Rose Highway through the subdivisions, coasted down to the foot of Geiger Grade, then cut on Miraloma over toward Rattlesnake Mountain. Once I got there, I saw that the usual "No Bikes" sign was gone so I gladly rode the scenic road across Rattlesnake Mountain, stopping to watch the sunset at the Huffaker Hills trailhead (and to appear to be spying on some teenagers asking out in their car, then back along Longley and Huffaker to get home just at dark. It's always worth it to get out!
