Bodie is now an official biker, or rather, one who runs along with bikes. So far we've only done the irrigating route twice, which is a mile or so loop. She is fine with the running, keeps up fine, even passing me when I was going about 11 mph. I haven't even seen her top speed yet! Her only problem is that she likes to run in front of the tires. It is something I've noticed even when we are walking together, that it is sort of a game for her to try to slow me down and make me change my route. We've kept the biking pretty slow, and I haven't run her over yet, although I have nudged her on the flanks with my tires a couple of times. She has a great time though, and it makes me happy to know that she can join our biking family. I'm excited to see what she'll be able to do when she gets a bit older. She is growing like crazy, and full of energy. We can't keep her off of anything in the house anymore including the kitchen table, counters, the toilet back, etc. etc. She's taken to sleeping on a little metal chair that is in our bathroom.
I've missed a few posts, but I made it all the way into March on my New Year's Resolution, so that is something like a record for me. The truth is that I haven't been very inspired, probably because I've ended up riding the 4-wheeler a heck of a lot more than my bike. But the inspiration is sort of back and I'm slowly getting on my bike more. We had a few days of nasty wind to start the month, so that made the 4-wheeler all the more tempting. The problem is that every time I go out to work I can either take my bike, which means fun, but effort, and more time, or I can take the easy out and ride the machine. The machine has been winning so far, but you can't keep me off my bike for very long. Today I've made one trip to the fields on my bike and one on the 4-wheeler and my next one will be via bike, and yesterday I rode my bike one for three to the fields. I'm planning on taking my bike for the next round as well, so maybe I'm over the hump.
I did have a great mountain ride one of the windy days, I haven't downloaded my pictures from it yet, but may have to post some. The surfaces are just so hard and there are so many stickery things, I don't know how we are going to make it through the summer when the goatsheads harden up. Well, some of these things are for future posts.
I love Bodie the Biking Goat. She is the cutest Biking Goat ever!
