After a long hiatus from bike commuting, the result mostly of our new house which has about doubled the commute distance to 15–16 miles, I finally got back in the saddle in a big way this week, commuting 4 of the 5 days (well, one day partly). It takes some time away to make me realize how much I miss riding my bike to work and the time it affords me. Here are some pics from my first week back in the saddle.
Virginia Range |
Mt. Rose in the morning |
Riding through the country |
Country road (for a little while at least) |
Approaching the Atlantis |
My route mostly goes along the freeway, and under casino billboards |
Double exposure passing the freeway |
Almost home, on our "street" |
spooky old barn on our street |
The way I'm headed, Peavine Mt. from Toll Road |
Toward Reno, at the first freeway onramp at dawn |
Not really the country this is really in the middle of subdivisions |
Mt. Rose at dusk |
